General

My name is Zach Young and I’m a 25. I work as a senior web developer at a local ad agency. I reside in Norfolk, Virginia.

Personality

My Jung personality type is INTP and my enneagram type is 5 with a touch of 4. I’ve heard that makes me some sort of artsy thinker type.

Interests

I’m interested in a lot of things. I spend a lot of time reading and studying religion and philosophy. Recently, in particular I have been studying Christian Gnosticism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Aside from these, I spend a fair amount of time messing around with computers and algorithms in C, Perl, and PHP. I play drums and guitar and am playing in a band now called “By Design.” I picked up photography as a hobby a few years ago and have been building up a portfolio of my favorite shots.

Favorites

My favorite movies are Moulin Rouge, Closer, and Rent. I like international films such as Night Watch, and frequently head down to the Naro in Ghent to see one or pick one up (at their attached rental store.) Silent films like Nosferatu and Metropolis are great too. I’d like to create my own silent film one day.

Musicals and Operas are nice and I have had the good fortune to see several. I think my favorite is probably Les Miserables or Monty Python’s Spamalot.

My favorite genre of music is jazz. My favorite music is that of John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Tool, Joel Futterman, and Zao. My favorite albums are Stellar Regions by John Coltrane and Solo Monk by Thelonious Monk.

My favorite book is The Stranger by Albert Camus.
