Creation
According to the Ussher-Lightfoot Calendar, the universe was created today by God in the year 4004 B.C. I can see how they figured out the year, though it seems that it would be hard to be that precise - and of course now new scientific and historical data points to an earlier date, but how did they come up with October 23?

Who cares how they figured it out? Happy Birthday, World!
This proves two things:
Firstly, that God moves in extremely mysterious, not to mention circuitous ways. God does not play dice with the Universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared from the perspective of an of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved inan obscure and comlex version of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won’t tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.
Secondly, the Earth’s a Libra.
