Re this post:  I found two items (in yours and in Trev's) that seem to me identical: compassion is love. 

Love is not a feeling, but an activity.  That's why I prefer love, because compassion is most often thought of as a feeling.  It's doing what's best for the object, whether that be God, yourself, or you neighbor.
